Ibn-e-Insha (ابنِ انشا), Sher Muhammad Khan was a renowned Pakistani Urdu poet, humorist, travelogue writer, and newspaper columnist. He is widely regarded as one of the finest humorists in Urdu literature, known for his witty, satirical style, conversational tone, wordplay, and sharp social commentary.
Ibn-e-Insha’s poetry stands out for its simplicity, directness, irony, and everyday language, blending influences from classical Urdu poets (like the 18th-century Insha Allah Khan “Insha,” from whom he drew his pen name) and English humorists such as P.G. Wodehouse.
